Let's hear about our very own #CanonUser Yashasvi Avarekad's journey in their own words:
"My journey as an amateur photographer started when my late grandfather gifted me the Canon 1200D camera that came with its own kit lens. Using this I used to sit in my backyard photographing birds that came to feast on fruits. Growing up on a coffee plantation fostered a deep connection with nature, instilling in me a profound love and respect for flora and fauna.
On our final day in the Masai Mara, we hoped to capture silhouette images of giraffes—something we hadn't achieved in our previous three days there. Luck smiled upon us when we found them during a desperate drive, even as the golden light was fading. Yet finding our subject was only half the challenge; we needed the perfect angle, positioning the giraffes along the horizon to create the frame we envisioned. Though time was running short, I managed to capture one of the images I had dreamed of.
The image was captured using a Canon camera, paired with an RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 lens. The exposure settings employed were a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second, an aperture of f/5.6, and an ISO setting of 200."
