Birds in flight are a snap away if you follow these simple steps by our EOS Maestro Caesar Sengupta.
Some very simple settings that you must keep in mind if you are shooting birds in flight.
1. Auto focus operation on servo AF. This is no more called AI Servo as it used to be earlier.
2. Auto focus method on tracking.
3. Subject to detect should be Animal.
4. Eye detection should obviously be enabled.
5. Case 2 on menu 3 โ which tells the camera to continue to track the bird even if an object like a tree or a shrub or a pole comes between the camera and the bird.
6. Tracking sensitivity reduced to minus 1 further helps the camera to continue to focus on the tracked bird and even if there are some objects coming in between, it will be slow reactive to it and will not shift focus.
